Job Description
The initial contract for this role begins on January 8th, 2025 and ends on August 19th, 2025. We will be
starting interviews as we receive candidates either virtually, on GoogleMeet, with the School Principal and General Manager, or, preferably, in person. We will close the position once it is filled.
Responsibilities Overview
• Follow the format and expectations provided by SPAS to create a syllabus, unit plans, rubrics, and weekly lesson plans for students
• Plan regular and consistent homework assignments and provide feedback/corrections
• Create tests and projects to measure and ensure student learning
• Prepare progress reports and report cards at the end of each term
• Attend and participate in faculty and staff meetings
• Take part in PTCs (Parent-Teacher Conferences) and speak/discuss with parents regarding their children
• Attend official SPAS functions as outlined on the calendar
This opening is for a Lower ELL Support position on our Gwanggyo Campus.
The Lower ELL Support position will have two key elements that will task the teacher in both leading
their own classroom, but also as a co-teacher to pinpoint and better support our students’ needs in
their normal classes. Weekly lesson plans and LMS updates
Reporting System:
This role reports directly to and is supervised by the school’s Vice Principal and Curriculum Coordinator
This role will be tasked with the English language support and acquisition needs of our G1 and G2 students. The candidate's time will be split into two elements - one as a classroom leader, designing lessons for our ELLs; and the other as a co-teacher, aiding students in their learning in an inclusive environment. Our ideal candidate will have worked in similar roles previously.
3. Working Conditions
• Teaching age group: Grades 1 and 2
• Starting Date: January 8th, 2023
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:40 A.M. - 4:40 P.M. (Once a week staff meeting 4:50 P.M.)
• Student Contact Hours: 25 Hours per week
• Teaching Hours: 20 Hours per week
• Extracurricular Class: 2 days per week
• Students per Class: 15 students max
• ASA: Included in Contact Hours (ELL Support-related)
• Other Duties: Lunch/Recess supervision, included in Contact Hours
• Contract Term: Annual
• Renewable upon successful evaluation and mutual agreement
• Standards: Common Core English, WIDA
