Job Description
Saint Paul Academy Daechi is seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to fill the role of a secondary science teacher (Grade 8-12) for the 2024-2025 school year. The specific subjects include Physical Science, biology, and physics. Candidates who provide letters of recommendation from former or current employers will have the strongest consideration. All candidates must have an understanding of how to work well within a professional team.
Responsibilities Overview
Lesson Planning and Delivery: Creating lesson plans that effectively convey key concepts and themes in science. This may involve incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and resources, such as primary sources, multimedia presentations, simulations, and group activities.
Content Instruction: Providing instruction on various aspects of physical science, biology, and physics.
Assessment and Feedback: Evaluating student learning through various assessment methods, such as tests, quizzes, essays, projects, and presentations.
Technology Integration: Incorporating technology tools and resources to enhance learning experiences and facilitate student engagement with course content.
Professional Collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues to share resources, exchange ideas, and develop interdisciplinary connections. Teachers may participate in professional development activities and conferences to stay informed.
Requirements
• Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Hold an F-4 or other F visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship or Korean citizenship
• Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
• Major: Education, Psychology, Adolescent Education, Education Psychology, History, or Sociology
Working Conditions
• Teaching Age: Middle and High School
• Starting Date: August 2024
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
• Contract Length: 1 year
• Workplace Language: English
Salary
Negotiable based on experience and education
Benefits
• Insured with the 4 National Insurances.
• Severance: upon completion of a one-year contract, severance pay which is equal to one month’s salary is paid to the teacher.
• Vacation: Mid June to End of August, 3 Weeks winter, 1 Week Spring plus National Korean Holidays
