Now Hiring: Middle School Math & Science Teacher Middle School Social Studies & English Teacher Benedem Education of Seoul is seeking dedicated and passionate educators to join our innovative middle school team. These full-time teaching positions serve students in Grades 5 through 8. Candidates should have strong content knowledge in their respective subject areas and a sincere commitment to supporting English classes as well as English Language Learners (ELLs) and fostering Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) alongside academic achievement. Whether you're a STEM-focused teacher or a Humanities-driven educator, we are excited to meet professionals who can deliver engaging, student-centered instruction and thrive in a dynamic international school setting. Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Classroom Leadership Teach Math & Science or Social Studies & English across middle school grades (5–8). Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and student learning needs. Differentiate instruction for a variety of learners, especially ELLs. Establish a positive classroom culture built on inquiry, collaboration, and respect. Integrate SEL practices into teaching and advisory periods. Assessment & Feedback Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student growth. Provide timely, specific feedback to guide academic development. Analyze student data to adjust instruction and improve outcomes. SEL & Student Well-Being Lead homeroom/advisory with intentional SEL activities and relationship-building. Support student well-being through empathy, structure, and reflective practices. Guide students in developing emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills. Approaches to Learning (IB MYP-aligned): We are looking for teachers who explicitly teach ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills, including: Thinking Skills – Encourage problem-solving, innovation, and knowledge application. Communication Skills – Build students’ verbal, written, and multimedia communication. Social Skills – Develop cooperation, leadership, and conflict resolution. Self-Management Skills – Foster organization, time management, and responsibility. Research Skills – Promote media literacy, source evaluation, and independent inquiry Collaboration & Communication Communicate proactively with parents/guardians about academic and social progress. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and learning strategies. Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and community events. Professional Growth Attend ongoing professional development and training sessions. Stay current with educational research and best practices. Contribute to a culture of reflective teaching and lifelong learning. Additional Duties Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom settings. Lead one after-school class or club as part of our enrichment program. Participate in school-wide events such as Open Houses and Parent-Teacher Conferences (2–3 times per year). Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or subject-specific field (Master’s preferred) Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school or multicultural setting Experience with ELLs, inclusion strategies, and SEL is highly desirable Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in educational technology and online learning tools Ability to create a supportive, engaging, and well-managed classroom Collaborative, growth-minded, and culturally responsive Valid teaching certificate/license from an English-speaking country or equivalent international certification Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, or lift as needed during the school day Working Conditions: Full-time position in a collaborative school environment Own classroom with computer, projector, printers, teacher's working area!
