Start Date: Negotiable Benedem Education of Seoul is seeking a visionary, student-centered Academic Director (ES & MS) who will serve in ES and MS department. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced educator who thrives in a collaborative, innovative, and globally minded school environment. The Academic Director will oversee teaching and learning across Elementary and Middle School, support teachers through coaching and evaluation, and play a key role in school operations, culture, and community partnerships. Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership & Curriculum Oversight Lead curriculum planning, review, and implementation for ES and MS. Ensure alignment with the school’s instructional vision, project-based learning frameworks, and multilingual program. Support grade-level teams with unit planning, assessments, and instructional design. Oversee academic policies, grading systems, student progress tracking, and academic interventions. Ensure high-quality instruction through classroom observations, coaching cycles, and feedback. Oversee and administer admissions-level tests for incoming ES and MS students; collaborate with the admissions team to review results and determine placement/support needs. Lead and participate in parent meetings, including academic consultations, student progress discussions, and admissions-related family conferences. Teacher Support & Professional Development Mentor and coach teachers in areas such as instructional strategies, SEL, differentiation, and classroom management. Organize and lead workshops, teacher training days, and ongoing professional development. Support teachers in creating syllabi, newsletters, lesson plans, and semester overviews. Facilitate onboarding and training for new teachers. Student Learning, Behavior, & Well-Being Monitor student academic performance and collaborate with teachers on support plans. Uphold the school’s behavior expectations and handle student concerns with empathy and fairness. Work with students and families to promote academic success and social-emotional growth. Operations & School Management Assist the Principal with daily school operations, scheduling, events, and communication. Lead or support parent meetings, workshops, exhibitions, and community events. Collaborate with leadership on school improvement planning and policy development. Supervise arrival/dismissal procedures, recess, lunch, and school-wide routines Community & Family Engagement Build strong relationships with students, teachers, staff, and families. Communicate regularly with parents through meetings, newsletters, and updates. Represent the school at orientation events, open houses, and external partnerships. Support the mission and long-term vision of Benedem Edu. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred). Teaching certification from an English-speaking country or equivalent international qualification. Experience Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or project-based learning environment. Minimum 2 years of leadership experience (Academic Coordinator, Team Lead, Vice Principal, Department Head, or similar). Experience supporting ES and MS teams strongly preferred. Background in teacher coaching, curriculum development, SEL, or multilingual programs is highly desirable. Skills & Competencies Strong instructional leadership and curriculum design skills. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to support teachers with empathy, clarity, and high expectations. Now Hiring: Grade 1-4 Homeroom Teacher Start Date: Negotiable Benedem Education of Seoul is seeking a passionate and nurturing Homeroom Teacher to join our innovative international elementary school team! This full-time role supports young learners in developing strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills through project-based and student-centered learning. Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Classroom Leadership Teach all core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) to elementary students. Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards. Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learners, including English Language Learners (ELLs). Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture rooted in kindness, curiosity, and mutual respect. Integrate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into daily routines and classroom instruction. Assessment & Feedback Use formative and summative assessments to monitor academic and social growth. Provide regular, meaningful feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reports.
