Swaton English Academy

Welcome to Swaton English Academy!

Swaton English has grown by building on the expertise accumulated since it first began operating as an academy in 1986.

We independently run specialized educational programs for elementary and middle school students, offering engaging English learning experiences through our specialized programs and multimedia classes.

Our top-notch faculty provides the highest quality educational services.

We uphold two main educational philosophies.

  • We help students find and achieve their dreams. Studying is a process of turning dreams and talents into reality through effort. Swaton English strives to instill dreams in every student, as studying is the journey to achieving those dreams, and helping students find their own purpose and motivation to study is both the starting point and the goal of learning.
  • Second, we nurture both knowledge and character. Building knowledge is essential for becoming a leading figure in the future society and achieving one’s dreams. Moreover, achieving those dreams requires sharing and consideration for others. Through an education that emphasizes not just personal advancement but also collaboration and mutual support, we cultivate well-rounded individuals with both knowledge and character.

Uijeongbu is located in Gyeonggi-do and is 20km (12 mi) north of Seoul with a population of 400,000. It developed rapidly after the Korean War (1950–53) as a service center for nearby military installations. It is now an industrial satellite of Seoul.
Uijeongbu’s cultural attractions include a number of Buddhist temples, including Mangwol Temple (constructed 639 AD); the Uijeongbu Arts Center; and the annual Hoeryong Cultural Festival (October), which features the reenactment of a Chosŏn-era royal parade.

Metropolitan Subway No. 1and the Gyeongwon Line cross the city from north to south. Boasting Mt. Surak in the east, Mt. Dobong in the west, and Mt. Cheonbo in the north, Uijeongbu is a central city in the northern part of Gyeonggi-do that is home to the Gyeonggi Provincial Government North Office and the Second Office of Gyeonggi-do Office of Education, as being the administrative, cultural, and economic leader in the region.

Our campus is conveniently located right next to Oryong Station on the Uijeongbu Line of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. The campus is surrounded by apartment complexes, making it a quiet and safe environment. Additionally, there are about five large parks nearby, including Yonghyeon Park, Songsan Waterfront Park, and Gonje Park, providing convenient locations for peaceful walks. The campus is also advantageously located not far from the northeastern part of Seoul, allowing for easy access to the city in about 30 minutes by public transportation. Being adjacent to apartment complexes, the area offers great convenience with numerous restaurants and franchise coffee shops nearby.
