Experienced Elementary English Instructor We are seeking an experienced teacher who can confidently lead elementary classes and contribute as a strong member of our academic team. Qualifications: Minimum 4 years of relevant teaching experience Experience teaching an American-style English curriculum Strong ability to teach literature, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing Confident classroom-management skills Ability to provide clear academic feedback to students and parents Ability to work independently and collaborate with other teachers 2. Elementary English Instructor This position is suited to a teacher who has developed a solid teaching foundation and wants to continue growing in a structured academic environment. Qualifications: 1–2 years of relevant teaching experience Experience working with elementary-aged students Strong English and communication skills Positive and dependable classroom presence Willingness to participate in training and receive professional feedback Genuine interest in developing a long-term career in education Experience teaching kindergarten through Grade 2 is especially valued for both positions. Main Responsibilities Teach literature, reading, grammar, writing, and novel-based classes Prepare lessons using Summit’s established curriculum Grade homework, quizzes, and writing assignments Monitor students’ academic progress and classroom participation Complete progress reports and related administrative work Communicate with parents about their child’s development Participate in staff meetings, training, and occasional academy events Collaborate with English- and Korean-speaking staff General Requirements Applicants must have: A bachelor’s degree from a four-year university Native or near-native English proficiency Legal eligibility to work in South Korea Korean proficiency sufficient to conduct parent consultations Required employment documents, including an apostilled degree and criminal background check when applicable F-4 and F-5 visa holders are preferred. Native Korean applicants with excellent English fluency are also welcome. Degrees in English literature, humanities, psychology, education, or early childhood education are preferred. Schedule Monday through Friday Approximately 24–30 teaching hours per week Classes generally arranged in 2.5- or 3-hour teaching blocks No regular Saturday classes A small number of mandatory Saturday events during the year Specific working hours and class assignments will be discussed during the interview. Who we are Summit English Academy is located in Banpo-dong, Seoul South Korea. Summit English is not a typical "cram school." We believe that students can learn effectively while having fun at the same time. We employ various methods to motivate our students, using tools that we picked up in our many years of teaching. Who we are looking for We are in need of teachers experienced in teaching an American based curriculum, who are fun and energetic, with a positive mindset. Experience teaching and managing younger students (kindergarten, 1st, 2nd grade) is a plus. We teach reading and writing skills, and how to analyze and think critically. The teacher should motivate students, fostering personal relationships with them. Furthermore, the teacher should be bilingual in English & Korean in order to communicate with coworkers and parents. Job Description (full time) Deadline: position 1. Full Time Position (1-2 weeks training needed in December). Start date: January 4, 2027 2. Teach multiple subjects (literature, grammar, writing, novel) but the layout is all given to you 3. Work Hours: three hour blocks or two hours and 30 minute blocks, (Work hours are subject to change, depending on the grade you’re teaching.) 4. Update parents about their child’s progress (speaking Korean is necessary) 5. Grading and administrative work Job requirements 1. Previous teaching experience using the American based curriculum with a minimum of 3 years 2. University major in English literature, humanity, psychology, and early childhood education is preferred 3. The ability to analyze literature and teach writing, having strong academic skills 4. Passion for teaching and a mentor for students 5. Great organizational skills with a strong work ethic 6. Be legally able to work in Korea with an F 4, F-5 visa with a 4 year university degree in liberal arts and majors from Native English speaking countries. Native Koreans with English fluency are also welcomed 7. Have paperwork ready to submit (Apostilled FBI background check, apostilled degree, etc) 8. Must be able to speak Korean fluently to conduct parent consultations Compensation & Benefits 1. Full Time: Pay up to 4.0 million won. It varies, depending on the student grade and hours you work. Class schedules and hours ( Teaching hours: 24 hours – 30 hours ) and salaries are to be discussed Part-time: Pay Range (pay negotiable depending on experience and hours taught) 2.
