SLP Jeonju
Sogang University was founded in 1960 to provide an education that aligns with the traditions of Korean education.
The English education philosophy of Sogang University is fully embodied in its children's English education program, Sogang SLP.
Although Korea's education policies and entrance examination systems frequently change, the essence of English remains the same. SLP teaches English that empowers children to face any challenge they encounter as they grow. Education for children and teenagers at Sogang SLP is committed to fostering not just ‘students who excel in tests’ but ‘children who think, act, and dream in English’. This is the promise that Sogang SLP has upheld in its dedication to English education for children and youth.
SLP Jeonju is a campus of SLP located in Jeonju, located in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and belongs to Jeollabuk-do.

SLP Curriculum/Program
SLP is an "ESL English education institution focused on kindergarten and elementary students." It offers a detailed curriculum tailored to the students' grade levels, proficiency, and long-term learning goals.
SLP's significant educational background is "Infusion Learning," which emphasizes cultivating background knowledge through extensive reading and acquiring skills and strategies for thinking and expressing in English. This approach ensures that learning becomes internalized and contributes to the formation of learning attitudes, habits, and temperaments. The key features are as follows:
Holistic Education Based on English |
We have created educational programs that ensure holistic development, which is crucial in early childhood. Additionally, we have developed and teach Korea's only character education English textbook. |
Age/Year-Specific Immersion Programs |
To maximize the learning outcomes of children, who show significant differences even within a year, we have developed and implemented age/year-specific programs. |
Enjoyable and Natural Learning Through Play |
Rather than rote memorization, we teach living English through various activities and play where English is meaningfully used. |
Developing the Ability to Think in English |
SLP's unique curriculum promotes the integrated development of listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills, as well as fostering logical thinking and creativity. |
Reading Programs Essential for Mastery of English |
By effectively utilizing SLP's independently developed reading program and AR, we help children naturally experience the joy of reading and encourage them to seek out books on their own. |
SLP Teacher Training
SLP believes that the competence of teachers is as important as the curriculum and programs.
Sogang SLP conducts training sessions for new teachers each semester. The training focuses on:
1. Understanding teaching materials and students.
2. Classroom management and lesson techniques tailored to children.
3. Making lessons enjoyable through games and activities.
In SLP Teacher Training, participants conduct mock lessons and engage in games as if they were students.
This comprehensive and systematic training ensures new teachers are well-prepared for any situation they might encounter, eliminating any concerns they may have before starting actual classes.
