Toddler Moms & Tots/M&T Program (3-4Y)

Toddlers are introduced to English through interactive and theme-based learning. This six-month program helps them build foundational skills before entering the pre-school curriculum.

 

Early Years Program (5-7Y)

Levels: Nursery (5Y), Junior (6Y), Senior (7Y)

  • INP - Intensive Nursery Program (5Y): Focuses on phonics,  includes activities: Read-Aloud, Music and Movement, and Learning Center.
  • ILP - Intensive Literacy Program (6Y/7Y): Builds literacy skills through phonics, sight words, and storytelling activities.
  • ISP1 - Intensive Senior Program 1 (6Y/7Y): Strengthens reading comprehension, writing, and presentation skills.

  • ISP2 - Intensive Senior Program 2 (7Y): Focuses on research skills, and critical thinking.

 

After-school Program (5-7Y)

Teaching Structure

Native teachers lead all instruction with the support of a Korean bilingual teacher. Korean teachers provide support in classroom management and communicating with parents. Additionally, a Korean care assistant will support pre-K/Kindergarten students.

Lesson Planning

Teachers follow a Canadian curriculum and prepare teaching materials, collaborating with teacher assistants. Lessons must follow the company guidelines for implementing English immersion.

Our elementary program fosters literacy, numeracy, technology, analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to prepare students for the modern world.

Divided into three courses:

 

  • BridgeS Course (ESL: Levels 1–8)
    • For beginners to intermediate students and builds a strong foundation in listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary, grammar, and writing.
  • Advanced Elementary (Lower Elementary Immersion: Levels 1–3)
    • Develops essential vocabulary through Guided Reading and Guided Writing, covering vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills
  • Elite Elementary (Upper Elementary Immersion: Levels 4–6)
    • Uses IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) textbooks to enhance discussion, debate, multimedia, and presentation skills.
    • Group activities foster communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.

YBM Prime is a comprehensive exam preparation program designed for upper elementary (UE)  to middle school (MS) students, covering school exams, standardized tests, and college entrance exams with 7 levels.* 

 

  • UE  –  MS1: Listening and speaking skills based on EFL learning.
  • MS1 – MS2: Integrates EFL-based subject learning with performance assessments.
  • MS2-MS3: Enhances speaking and writing skills for school exams and assessments.
  • MS3-HS1: Provides comprehensive preparation for high school English exams.
  • HS1-HS2: Grammar and reading comprehension for college entrance exams.
  • College Entrance Exam Intensive Course: Focuses on high-difficulty exam questions and test-taking strategies.
  • Elite Track: Prepares for TEPS, TOEFL, CSAT special admissions, and English interviews.

Teaching Structure

Korean teachers lead most lessons with Native teachers leading EFL lessons. 

 Lesson Planning

Teachers follow a set curriculum with pre-made lesson plans from Korean teachers. Teachers are given lesson plans a week prior and are expected to prepare for classes accordingly. Prep time is provided during work hours.

Grading & Reporting:

  • Assignment workload varies by grade level, and teachers are responsible for assigning, assessing, and grading student tasks, providing feedback, and tracking progress through both online and offline review activities, including extensive reading programs and comprehension-based assignments.
Daily Review & mark student assignments, including vocab tests.
Weekly Review & mark weekly listening tests, and journal writings. 
Monthly Grade and provide feedback on monthly exams, essays, and presentations.

Quarterly

(3M)

Grade SR (iPad, test reading level throgh Renaissance Learning)  and paper tests to prepare for TOEFL (listening, reading, vocab, grammar, and writing)

Non-teaching Duties:

  • Supervise students during mealtimes (lunch, snack time)
  • Assist students with bathroom breaks (kindergarten, if needed)
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences (twice in a year)
  • Participate in field trips and school events
  • Bus loading and send-off 

 

 
 Grading & Reporting:
  • Teachers are expected to grade student assignments, provide feedback, and track progress.
Daily Review & mark student assignments, including workbook exercises.  
Weekly Record student participation, behavior, and performance in progress logs (less than 5 sentences in length. 
Monthly Grade and provide feedback on monthly exams, essays, and presentations.

Compile formal progress reports detailing comprehensive student achievement in key language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).  Each student report is expected to be within 1-3 pages in length. These reports are reviewed by our team before being shared with parents. 

Non-teaching Duties:

  • Beyond the classroom, teachers also are expected to:
    • Attend bi-annual teacher workshops
    • Supervise students during mealtimes (lunch, snack time)
    • Assist students with bathroom breaks (kindergarten, if needed)
