About Us

Reggio ELC is an academy that applies the "Regio Emilia Education method," a play-based learning method that helps children think and solve themselves while hanging out. It fosters thinking, self-realization, socialization and cooperation through children's inner curiosity and learning the process of presenting, exploring and researching problems.

Reggio ELC is a small, close-knit kindergarten consisting of one 5-year-old class, two 6-year-old classes, and two 7-year-old classes. The teaching team includes five Native English Teachers (NETs) and five Korean staff members, creating a well-balanced and collaborative environment.

The school is conveniently located about a 15-minute walk from Pangyo Station, with a pleasant route through a nearby park. While there is a structured curriculum in place, teachers are given a high level of autonomy in how they deliver lessons. There is also a shared pool of supplementary materials available, allowing teachers to tailor their classes to suit their teaching style and students’ needs.

Every Friday, the school hosts a themed event—often involving role-play activities—which the students look forward to and actively enjoy. These events add a creative and engaging element to the weekly routine.

Reggio ELC offers a warm, supportive, and relaxed working environment. The students are well-behaved and enthusiastic, making classes enjoyable to teach. Colleagues are approachable and collaborative, contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

Our students consist of kindergarten to elementary school. Our Kindergarten programs uses the Kids Benetbook in class. The elementary program completes ESL classes from Basic to Advance courses.

About Our Teachers

All of Reggio ELC’s instructors genuinely care about their students and are committed to helping them grow, both academically and personally. There is a strong sense of responsibility among the teaching team, with each instructor putting in consistent effort to create a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment.

Native English Teachers and Korean instructors work collaboratively, each bringing their own strengths to the classroom. This shared approach allows for a more balanced and effective learning experience, combining natural language exposure with structured support to ensure students fully understand and retain what they learn.

To maintain consistency across all classes, Reggio ELC provides a comprehensive “Teacher’s Guide” that outlines the full course structure. This ensures that regardless of an instructor’s individual teaching style or level of experience, all students receive a high standard of education without gaps in their learning progression.

In addition, instructors are supported through a detailed “Teacher’s Handbook,” which offers clear guidance on classroom management, lesson delivery, and student engagement. This helps teachers feel confident in their roles while also maintaining a consistent and professional teaching approach across the academy.

Reggio ELC also places a strong emphasis on communication and continuous improvement. Regular instructor meetings are held to discuss class progress, share teaching strategies, and address any concerns related to student learning or well-being. These meetings foster a collaborative team culture and ensure that every student is being closely supported both inside and outside the classroom.
