Welcome to RISE Ilsan Jungsan!

Since 2016, we have built a strong reputation among families in Ilsan as a trusted school, welcoming all young learners and fostering confident English learners through play.  Our campus is directly managed by RISE headquarters, which handles school operations and provides administrative support for our teachers.

We consistently nurture high-achieving students, with many of our students earning perfect scores on the TOEFL Junior tests and placing in the top 1% of test takers. Our success is the result of the hard work of our students and teaching staff. Our team is dedicated to preparing future global talent, and we look forward to welcoming new teachers on this journey!

Our Curriculum and Programs

Our programs follow RISE's American play-based curriculum, which focuses on developing language, cognitive, and social-emotional learning through fun, hands-on activities.

We place a special emphasis on listening and speaking, rather than memorization and writing. Our campus also serves as an official TOEFL Junior center, reflecting our confidence in our curriculum and dedication to fostering talented students.

Throughout the year, we plan field trips, host birthday parties, and celebrate holidays through themed events, such as Easter and Thanksgiving.

In RISE K, we promote language development, cognitive development, and creative expression by balancing academic lessons with playful, hands-on activities designed to enhance students’ speaking, reading, writing, listening, and leadership skills.

Textbooks & Resources:

  • We incorporate the renowned American publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's Journeys, along with our in-house RISE WISE workbooks.

Blended Learning: RISE-On

  • We use the RISE-On e-learning platform, which provides interesting learning content, such as phonics and reading, and an AI feedback system. Our online platform is used to supplement classroom learning.

Teaching Structure Native teachers are expected to deliver lessons with the support of a Korean bilingual teaching assistant.  Assistants help manage the class and talk with parents.
Lesson Planning Teachers follow a set curriculum with pre-made lesson plans. Teachers are given lesson plans a week prior and are expected to prepare for classes.
In RISE Quest for Self-Discovery (QSD), we focus on developing the 4Cs—communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creative thinking—through fun activities like storytelling, group presentations, and story writing.

Foundation Program (FP): For beginners learning the basics of English.

Exploration Program (EP): For RISE K graduates, follows the American curriculum.

Values Program (VP): Focus on American literature.
