Position Overview

We invite applications for three distinct full-time teaching positions within our secondary-level science program.

The successful candidates will each assume primary responsibility for one disciplinary area: Secondary Science, Chemistry, or Biology.

All three appointments require strong subject-matter knowledge, sound instructional judgment, and the ability to deliver rigorous, inquiry-based instruction in an in an international school setting.

Open Positions

1. Secondary Science Teacher

Primary teaching assignment: General and/or Integrated Science at the secondary level

2. High School Chemistry Teacher

Primary teaching assignment: High School Chemistry, including AP Chemistry

3. High School Biology Teacher

Primary teaching assignment: High School Biology

Shared Professional Responsibilities

• Design and deliver coherent, intellectually demanding courses aligned with the school curriculum and applicable academic standards.
• Develop syllabi, unit plans, lesson plans, assessments, laboratory activities, and instructional materials that demonstrate disciplinary depth and a clearly articulated progression of learning.
• Employ inquiry-based and student-centered instructional practices that promote scientific reasoning, problem-solving, and independent learning.
• Evaluate student performance with academic rigor and provide precise, timely feedback and targeted academic support where appropriate.
• Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction according to student needs.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with varying levels of readiness and academic achievement.
• Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom environment.
• Plan and supervise laboratory and practical activities in accordance with appropriate safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, assessment, and academic progress.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, colleagues, counselors, and administrators.
• Collaborate constructively with colleagues in curriculum review, assessment design, professional learning, and departmental initiatives.
• Participate in faculty meetings, parent conferences, school events, advisory responsibilities, extracurricular activities, and other assigned institutional responsibilities.
• Uphold academic integrity, safeguarding and child-protection standards, responsible technology use, and the professional expectations of the school.

Required Qualifications - All Applicants

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in the relevant discipline or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated capacity to teach secondary-level learners in English with clarity, intellectual authority, and sound instructional judgment.
• Relevant secondary-level teaching experience in an international school, international program, private education institution, or comparably rigorous academic setting.
• Ability to design standards-aligned curriculum, assessments, and evidence-based academic support.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish a rigorous, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to student safeguarding, professional ethics, collaboration, and continued professional growth.
• Legal eligibility to work in the Republic of Korea under an E-2 or eligible F-series visa, and ability to satisfy applicable background-check requirements.

Position-Specific Requirements

1. Secondary Science Teacher

• Degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth or Environmental Science, Science Education, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach General Science and/or Integrated Science at the secondary level.
• Broad command of foundational concepts across the physical, chemical, biological, and earth/environmental sciences.
• Ability to teach scientific concepts through inquiry, experimentation, quantitative reasoning, data analysis, modeling, and evidence-based explanation.
• Ability to design, supervise, and assess laboratory and practical investigations appropriate for secondary-level students.
• Ability to connect scientific concepts across disciplines and apply them to authentic and real-world contexts.

Position-Specific Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching General Science, Integrated Science, or multiple secondary-level science disciplines.
• Experience with American, NGSS-aligned, AP, IB, Cambridge, or other internationally recognized science curricula.
• Experience teaching both middle and high school students.
• Experience with interdisciplinary STEM, project-based learning, or inquiry-based science instruction.
• Ability to teach more than one science discipline at the secondary level.

2. High School Chemistry Teacher

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Advanced command of high school Chemistry and demonstrated ability to teach Chemistry through the Advanced Placement level.
• Strong subject knowledge across atomic structure, chemical bonding and molecular interactions, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, kinetics, thermochemistry and thermodynamics, equilibrium, acids and bases, and electrochemistry.
• Ability to integrate conceptual understanding, quantitative problem-solving, scientific modeling, data analysis, and evidence-based reasoning into Chemistry instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to design, supervise, and assess laboratory investigations safely and effectively.
• Ability to prepare students systematically for the AP Chemistry examination, including multiple-choice and free-response questions, quantitative analysis, experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific argumentation.

Position-Specific Preferred Qualifications

• Prior successful teaching experience in AP Chemistry.
• Demonstrated experience preparing students for the AP Chemistry examination.
• Familiarity with current College Board AP Chemistry course and assessment expectations.
• Experience teaching Honors Chemistry, IB Chemistry, A-Level Chemistry, or another advanced secondary-level Chemistry curriculum.
• Experience developing and supervising inquiry-based Chemistry laboratory investigations.
• AP Chemistry professional development or other recognized advanced Chemistry training.

3. High School Biology Teacher

• Degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Biology Education, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Strong command of high school Biology, including cell and molecular biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, organismal biology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Ability to deliver rigorous Biology instruction emphasizing conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry, experimental evidence, data analysis, and scientific reasoning.
• Ability to design, supervise, and assess laboratory and inquiry-based investigations safely and effectively.
• Ability to develop standards-aligned curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials appropriate for secondary and high school Biology.
• Ability to support students in developing scientific literacy, independent inquiry, and evidence-based explanations.

Position-Specific Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching secondary or high school Biology.
• Experience teaching AP Biology, IB Biology, A-Level Biology, Honors Biology, or another advanced secondary-level Biology curriculum.
• Experience designing and supervising Biology laboratory and inquiry-based investigations.
• Experience preparing students for advanced-course or external assessments.
• Advanced subject knowledge in genetics, molecular biology, physiology, ecology, or another life-science discipline.
• Ability to teach an additional secondary-level Science discipline.

Preferred Qualifications - All Applicants

• Master's or doctoral degree in the relevant discipline, education, or a related field.
• Three or more years of successful instructional experience in a secondary-level academic setting.
• Recognized teaching certification or licensure from Korea, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, or another established jurisdiction.
• Previous teaching experience in an international school.
• Experience with AP, IB, A-Level, Honors, or other advanced international curricula.
• Evidence of sustained professional learning, curriculum leadership, or contribution to departmental development.
• Experience contributing to advisory programs, extracurricular activities, clubs, competitions, or other aspects of school life.
• Demonstrated effectiveness working with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
