Job Description
1. Role and Responsibilities
You will be an English teacher for our Elementary students. You will be responsible for the following:
• Teach as a homeroom teacher (most of the teaching is with your class)
• Teach listening, speaking, basic reading and writing skills
• Make lesson plans for classes and share with teachers teaching the same grade.
• Meet learning goals and track student improvement
• Attend meetings, workshops, and special events required by the school
• Actively engage students in the learning process.
• Recognize the needs of individual students and the entire group.
2. Candidate Qualifications
All candidates must;
• Native English Speaker
• Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Holds or is eligible for the E-2 visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship
• F-visa holders
• Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check
• Must be physically and mentally healthy.
3. Working Conditions
• Student Type: Elementary
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:20 A.M. - 4:20 P.M. (Includes a 30-minute break)
Morning - Regular classes
Afternoon - After School Classes
• Teaching Hours: 4-8 classes per day, 40 minutes per class
• Curriculum and lesson plans provided.
• Teacher training provided
• Lunch: Provided at the cafeteria but the meals will be deducted from the teacher's paycheck.
Salary
2.3 million KRW per month
Benefits
*Supplementary Income (in addition to the salary)
An additional ₩20,000 KRW per hour is paid for all teaching hours exceeding 90 hours per month. Most teachers teach more than 90 hours and typically earn a minimum of 300,000 KRW in additional monthly compensation during the academic semester (excluding vacation periods).
• Insured with the 4 National Insurances.
• Severance Pay: Paid upon the completion of employment (minimum 1-year contract)
• Vacation: 26 paid vacation days plus Korean National Holidays
During the vacation camp times (3 weeks in the summer, 3 weeks in the winter), teacher teach classes in the morning and then work from home in the afternoon.
• Sick Days: 15 paid sick days per year.
• Entrance Allowance: 1,300,000 KRW provided to teachers relocating from overseas.
• Exit Allowance: 1,300,000 KRW provided upon completion of the one-year contract and return to the teacher’s home country.
