Job Description
1. Roles and Responsibilities
Role: Elementary Homeroom Teacher
Responsibilities
• Create syllabi, unit plans, rublics and lesson plans
• Grade homework and design tests
• Write report card comments
• Participate in parent counselling when needed
• (Optional) Supervise club or extracurricular activites
2. Candidate Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Korean citizens or F-Series visa holders or E-2 visa holders
• Korean citizens must be able to teach using fluent English.
• Teaching license or certifiation preferred preferred
• Teachers with experience with younger learners preferred
• Although teachers do not need to be actively practicing Christians, teachers should be respectful and open to Christian values. Teachers must attend weekly Monday chapel (45 minutes).
3. Working Conditions
• Teaching Age Group: Elementary School Students
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
• Class Size: 12 - 16 Students per class
Salary
Based on a salary scale contingent on years of experience, degrees, and certificates
Benefits
• Insured with the 4 National Insurances.
• Severance: upon completion of a one-year contract, severance pay which is equal to one month’s salary is paid to the teacher.
• Vacation: 15 days off for summer vacation, 5 days off for winter vacation, plus Korean National Holidays (All paid)
Teachers teach mandatory summer/winter camps with shorter hours during the rest of the student vacation time.
• Airfare: Round-trip airfare (arrival and departure) is provided for teachers coming from overseas.
