Job Description
Saint Paul American Scholars (SPAS) is designed to help teach young people to become responsible citizens and prepare students for college. That means that they must learn the key attributes of ethical behavior including courage, compassion, integrity, justice, truth, reason, fairness, respect, and honesty in addition to the core academic subjects.

Saint Paul American Scholars is seeking an organized and structured individual to fill upcoming openings for an ELL Support Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
The role begins on September 16th, 2024 and ends on August 19th, 2025. We will be starting interviews as we receive candidates either virtually, on GoogleMeet, with the School Principal and General Manager, or, preferably, in person. We will close the position once it is filled.

This position will work in conjunction with the SPAS disciplinary system - we are looking for educators with a firm understanding of positive behavior systems and their classroom implementation

This role is full-time and will include support of G1-2 students as an ELL support team member - conducting Push-In/Co-Taught classes during ELA and English Extension classes a week. We are interested in educators with excellent classroom management tools, a background in TESOL or TEFL, and who have several positive behavior reinforcement strategies, as well as being adept at communicating with grade-level partners and PLCs for data analysis. All of our teachers are responsible for assigning and evaluating daily homework, using rubrics and data to drive assessment decisions, and creating trusting connections with students and parents.

Responsibilities Overview
• Follow the format and expectations provided by SPAS to create a syllabus, unit plans, rubrics, and weekly lesson plans for students
• Plan regular and consistent homework assignments and provide feedback/corrections
• Create tests and projects to measure and ensure student learning
• Prepare progress reports and report cards at the end of each term
• Attend and participate in faculty and staff meetings
• Take part in PTCs (Parent-Teacher Conferences) and speak/discuss with parents regarding their children
• Attend official SPAS functions as outlined on the calendar
Requirements
• Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Hold an F visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship or Korean citizenship
• Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check
• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Major: TEFL, TESOL, Education, Elementary Education, etc.

Salary
Competitive and based on a salary scale contingent on years of experience, degrees, and certificates
