Location Jamsil Seoul, Korea Job Type Full Time Student Type Elementary Working hours Work hours : Monday - Friday, 12:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. Teaching Hours: 4 classes at 5 hours per week per class Salary Starting at 4.0 million, negotiable Qualifications: Have an F-visa At least five years of teaching experience Interest in design thinking Able to develop positive relationships with children and their parents Preferred: Teaching certificate experience teaching abroad or at an international school knowledge of linguistics, second language acquisition knowledge of the science of reading Position Duties: You will be teaching a class of young advanced English learners using an international school curriculum. You will be responsible for: Lesson planning Grading Report cards Homework posting Communicating with staff about students Class Description: Elementary school students grades 1 - 6 International school grade 1 - 6 English/Language Arts class Novel & nonfiction reading Vocabulary instruction Writing Grammar Phonics and word study Projects using the design thinking process Working Conditions Student Type: Elementary Curriculum: Materials provided, but teachers are responsible for their own lesson plan Teaching Hours: Monday - Friday, 3:00 P.M. - 8:20 P.M. (Maximum of 25 hours per week) Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 12:30 - 8:30pm Wednesdays will be used for: professional development, student work analysis, teacher collaboration, curriculum development Class Size: 8 students per class Teaching Staff: 4 Native English Teachers & 1 Korean Teacher Benefits Professional development opportunities National Insurances provided Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation (one set week in the summer and one in the winter) plus Korean National Holidays; additional vacation negotiable Work environment that is open and welcoming to new ideas in the classroom No housing provided, sorry :(
