DL English Academy is an after-school program for 1st - 6th grade English-speaking students. We develop our student's confidence and creativity so that they can be ready for an uncertain future. In small classes of 8 students, students will work in teams to solve tricky challenges that will help improve our world. In these teams, students will do research through reading and interviews to gain a better understanding of the problem. Teams will then collaborate to create possible solutions. Once teams develop a solution, they will present their ideas in both writing and speaking to gain feedback on how they can develop their ideas. Students will practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening as part of the design process. 

In addition to learning the design thinking process, students will also learn vocabulary, essay and report writing, grammar, reading, and social emotional skills. We believe that this opportunity will strengthen our students’ confidence in their own thinking and help them understand the importance of caring for the world around them.
