Teacher FAQ
1. What is the typical teaching schedule like, and how many students are in each class?
In each class, the average number of students is around 7, with a maximum of up to 13 young students. The class schedule at the academy includes 7times of 45-minute sessions in a day. Additionally, a 45-minute intermediate break is guaranteed.
From 2 to 3 p.m., there is prep time, which is free time.
2. Are there set textbooks and lesson plans, or do teachers have flexibility in designing their own materials?
There is a specified textbook and a class plan. In addition, teachers may voluntarily make assistant materials for students.
3. What kind of support does the school provide for newly joining teachers? Is there any onboarding?
There is a manual for the new teacher, and I am proud of teachers in Avlaon helping native teachers to be kindly to adapt well. There is also a guide to know how to guide you in class.
4. How does the school approach classroom management? Do we teach alongside a co-teacher?
There is a Korean teacher in the class, who is conducting parent counseling and student management. Native speaker can take a class as a co -teacher.
5. What are the key qualities you look for in a teacher at your academy?
I think it is a professional consciousness. Of course, teacher’s own convenience and interests should be guaranteed and the most important value is that it is important for the teacher to do their best so that students can learn English well in the school. It is also important to create a cooperative, understanding, and harmonious school room rather than complaints.
