Job Description
Sponge English is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic ESL Reading Teacher to lead engaging and effective reading-focused classes for young English language learners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early literacy development and comfortable working independently in small classroom settings (less than 5 students per class).
1. Role and Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver interactive reading lessons tailored to the English proficiency and developmental level of each student. (Lesson will range from phonics to reading)
• Foster a supportive and immersive English-speaking environment to build reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Track and assess individual student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians as needed.
• Manage classroom behavior and learning pace independently, without the support of an assistant teacher.
• Adapt teaching strategies to suit small-group dynamics and individual learning styles.
2. Candidate Qualifications
• Native English Speaker
• Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Holds or is eligible for the E-2 visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship
• F-visa holders
• Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check
• Must be physically and mentally healthy.
3. Working Conditions
• Student Type: Kindergarten & Elementary (Korean Ages 5-12)
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 2:00 - 7:00 (50-minute classes + 10-minute breaks)
• Class Size: Maximum 5 students. No assistant teacher.
• Curriculum and lesson plans provided.
• Teacher training provided.
• Teaching Staff: 1 Native English Teacher
Salary
2.5 million KRW and up (Negotiable)
