Job Description

 

Big Heart Christian School is an international school. Our mission is to "build Christian leaders to change the world." As an international school, we nurture students to be passionate about evangelism and impact future generations for Jesus Christ. Our goal is to provide an independent "American style" education as an alternative to Korean public schools, embracing biblical principles and the "Cultural Commission" (Matthew 28:19-20).

 

1. Roles and Responsibilities
 

As a Elementary ESL Teacher at Big Heart Christian School, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of English as a Second Language topics for Grades 1 through Grade 6.  You must have expert knowledge of teaching English as a Second Language to elementary school students. You will teach following the US Common Core State Standards.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Teach a variety of topics in English to students

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons based on a set curriculum

  • Prepare teaching materials ahead of time

  • Grade regular homework assignments

  • Track and report students’ performance dates and give feedback

 

2. Candidate Qualifications:

 

• Native English Speaker
• Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution 
• Holds or is eligible for the E-2 visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship
• F-visa holders
• Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check
• Have a clean self-medical health check.

 

 

3. Working Conditions

 

• Student Type: Elementary
• Curriculum: Curriculum provided
• Working Hours:  Monday - Friday, 8:10 A.M. - 4:15 P.M.
• Teaching Hours: 30 classes per week
• Class Time: 40 minutes per class
• Class Size: 10 students per class
• Lunch Hour: 12:00 P.M.-12:50 P.M.
• Teacher Training: Provided
• Teaching Staff: 7 Native English Teachers, 17 Korean Teachers

Salary

Negotiable Based on Experiences

Benefits

• Insured with the 4 National Insurances.
• Severance: upon completion of a one-year contract, severance pay which is equal to one month’s salary is paid to the teacher.
•Vacation: 2 Weeks Winter, Thanksgiving, and All Korean Holidays
•Airfare: Roundtrip (50% paid at the start and 50% at the end of contract)
