Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher - SIE Central
About the Role We are seeking a warm, organized, and dedicated Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher to join our vibrant school community. This role involves more than just teaching—it’s about building strong relationships with students, supporting their academic and social-emotional growth, and creating a classroom culture where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn. You’ll be working with a collaborative team and using Common Core-aligned resources to plan and deliver engaging instruction across core subjects. The ideal candidate is flexible, nurturing, and passionate about early childhood education. Primary Responsibilities Classroom Instruction & Planning Provide daily instruction in core subjects (e.g., English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science) Plan and deliver lessons using Common Core State Standards-aligned materials Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students Homeroom & Student Supervision Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive homeroom environment Support students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral development Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom happenings Implement proactive behavior strategies and classroom management techniques Help mediate student conflicts and foster positive relationships Collaboration & School Community Work closely with colleagues on grade-level planning and student support Contribute to a school culture that values curiosity, kindness, and personal growth Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and occasional school events Use the school’s SIS to manage grades, track curriculum, and communicate with families Minimum Qualifications Prior experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably at the elementary level Teaching certification or an education-related university degree Strong communication and classroom management skills A positive attitude and a genuine love for working with young children How to Apply Please reply to this posting or directly to hiring@siecentral.org with your resume and a cover letter outlining how your experience, interests, and approach to literacy make you an excellent fit for this role.
