Founded in 2010, we are an English academy located in Apkujeong, Seoul, South Korea (Gangnam). We specialize in educating Korean students. Pride J Academy’s curriculum focuses on providing basic fundamental English skills for students to utilize at their convenience whether academically or personally. Our primary methodology is using and incorporating Pride J Academy’s R&D materials with US standard academic text books.

 

Our Programs

We are specialized in English education for elementary and secondary students and use 100% English classes and American textbooks as our main textbooks. To achieve our motto, "Make dreams and hopes a reality", classes are held in a thoroughly managed environment focusing on making students interested in English using various methods and developing self-studying.
In addition, we teach students to have enough strong skills that can never be shaken by Korean English education methods and tests.

 

Requirements for Teachers

We prefer teachers who have F visas (F4, F2, F6) or a Korean who is passionate, energetic, and innovative. We look for someone who is devoted to flexible and diverse teaching methods and sympathizes with the school's goals.

Teachers must also have intermediate or higher Korean speaking skills to meet the Korean government qualifications.

1. Role and Responsibilities As an English subject teacher, you will help the students prepare for exams and create a comforting learning environment. You will be responsible for the following: • Teach basic to advanced English reading, writing, speaking, and listening • Actively engage students in the learning process • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students • Recognize the needs of individual students and the entire group • Offer support and flexibility as needed • Utilize technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. • Participate in professional development activities that are aligned with the assigned curriculum and the varied needs of students • Grade homework and give feedback 2. Candidate Qualifications • Native English Speaker • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution • Hold an F4 visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship • Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check • Must be physically and mentally healthy 3. Working Conditions • Student Type: Elementary and Middle School • Curriculum: Curriculum and lesson plans provided • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 2:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. • Class Hours: Monday - Friday, 3:30 P.M. - 9:45 P.M. • Teaching Hours: 30 classes per week • Prep Time: 2:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. • Class Time: 180 minutes per class • Class Size: 10 students per class • Teacher Training: Provided • Teaching Staff: 5 Native English Teachers

The school is located in Gangnam and more specifically Apgujeong, which is one of the wealthiest areas in Seoul. One of the main shopping areas is Apgujeong Rodeo Street, along with Cheongdam-dong Fashion Street in Cheongdam-dong and Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong, which are connected by the main avenue Apgujeong-ro. It is seen as a fashionable and trend-setting destination.
The area is filled with upscale department stores, shops, boutiques, hagwons, cafes, and restaurants. Two main department stores, Hyundai Department Store and Galleria Department Store are located in this area with both being Flagship Stores.
